Hello! I hope you are all still enjoying your holidays! I couldn’t share this card before now since it was for Chris, and he actually reads my blog 😉
For the past 6 months I was getting the Studio Calico Card Kit. I found I wasn’t using it very much and it wasn’t always my style. I like to get some sort of kit in the mail though, because it doesn’t have anything to do with my classes, and I can just free create from it, for me! So, I went on the hunt for a new kit to subscribe to, I decided on the Simon Says Stamp Card Kit. My first kit came early December… I have been so busy with my COOLest Card series, and last minute decision of creating Christmas cards and handmade gifts that I didn’t get a chance to play. When I really looked at the kit, I saw the stamps were PERFECT for a holiday card for Chris 🙂 Here is what I came up with!
All the images are from the kit. I embossed the mittens in white, fussy cut them out and added some Tim Holtz Distress glitter, and rock candy distress stickles to them. I love how the bakers twine came out, looking like an actual mitten string! The “XOXO” is a border stamp from the kit that I repeatedly stamped on the background, and then layered over some Lawn Fawn Peace, Love, Joy pattern papers (these are the same I used on my Christmas Cards). For the sentiment, I chopped it up into word-fetti. I love this teal, warm red color combo as well!
Note: If you hover over the images on my blog posts, you will see the Pinterest icon appear, so you can easily pin this idea for next year!
sweet card and pic!
I recently discontinued my SC Card kit subscription too. I can’t keep up with kits unless it is for a DT.
