No rainbow items for sale here, just a person who wants you to know you are seen, valued, and not alone. In a political climate where basic human rights feel more threatened than ever, showing up as an ally matters more than it ever has. I won’t pretend to fully understand every challenge the LGBTQ+ community faces, but I will keep listening, keep learning, and keep voting for those who believe every single person deserves dignity and love.
🏳️🌈 Love is Love 🏳️🌈
Time to celebrate, support, acknowledge, listen, and learn. And for those crafty folks who are curious about how this card came together, here’s everything I used and how I made it.
Stencil the Background: I applied Tim Holtz’s Brush Arch stencil over white cardstock using Distress Texture Paste in Opaque Black, creating a bold, raised arch pattern. Let dry completely.
Watercolor the Rainbow: I then watercolored over the stenciled background with Distress Watercolor Pencils in full rainbow order. The black texture paste resists the color, making the arches pop.
Add some sparkle: I cut a strip of black sparkle cardstock and adhered it vertically to cover the seam where the background panels meet, adding glittery contrast against the rainbow. Die-Cut the Letters: Using Lawn Fawn’s Quinn’s ABCs dies, die-cut each letter from both gold sparkle and black cardstock, layering them slightly offset for a dimensional shadow effect. For the bottom “love,” I swapped the O for a small die-cut heart. I mounted the layered letters onto the card using black foam strips for dimension.
