We are talking all about texture this week on the Lawnscaping Challenge blog. There are so many ways you can add “texture” to a card. Be creative! We are challenging YOU to use texture!
For my card I decided to play with black embossing paste, colored Stickles Dry glitters, distress ink, glossy accents and an edge distresser all to add texture.
I couldn’t resist playing with some more of the new images from Lawn Fawn. Remember to put your requests in with your local stores OR pre-order the goodies you want. The new Sweater Weather and Snowday Collection as well as all the new stamps and dies and notecards etc will be available Aug 28th!
The new Monster Mash set is SO fun and can be used for other themed cards, not just Halloween. I just love Halloween cards and feel the season comes and goes so quickly I never get to create all the things I want to.
I started by using the Tim Holtz Bubble layering stencil and smeared some black embossing paste. Set aside to dry. While that was drying I worked on all my other elements. I colored them with copic markers and then accented them with colored stickles dry glitter (colors listed below). This is an ultrafine glitter and I used a quickie glue pen to adhere it. For the green monster I layered thick amounts of glossy accents on his eye– i just love how this turned out!
I used an edge distresser and distress inks in Pumice Stone and Seedless Preserves to ink the edges. I stamped the sentiment with Iris Hero Arts Chalk ink then using a quickie glue pen I traced the word “spooktacular” and covered it with purple Stickles dry glitter. I just love the detail you can get with a quickie glue pen and I love that it dries right away!
And one more pic for you showing you all the sparkle in the sunshine! (disregard my chipped nail polish 😉 )
For this Lawnscaping Challenge Lawn Fawn is hosting, so this is your chance to win a Gift Certificate from them! I hope you will play along and show us how you like to add texture!
Love the background texture you created! Glitter is always the perfect texture! 😉
I couldn’t agree more amie 🙂 thank you!!
Wow! Love your grungy ghouls! I love Halloween, too. One of my sons was born on Oct. 31st and we had some GREAT parties when he was younger… He still gets a Halloween-themed birthday card every year. I did not know Ranger made DRY stickles!? Looks like a great product. So much easier to get it exactly where you want it with the glue pen vs the little squeezy bottle.
OOOH a halloween birthday sounds wicked fun!!! 🙂 yes, Ranger Dry Stickles, is an ultrafine glitter in all of their fabulous stickles colors… fun right!?!?! I LOVE my quickie glue pen… best glue pen EVER!!! thank you so much for leaving a comment caroline 🙂
