Hero Arts Winter Blog Hop

Hero Arts Winter Blog Hop

Hi everyone! Welcome to the Hero Arts Winter Blog Hop!

If you are visiting my blog for the first time or have not yet subscribed – be sure to do so! I share lots of handmade projects every week delivering them straight to your inbox! I also occasionally share information about crafty classes and new product releases I love. Subscribe here.

Little known fact about me, I grew up in a log cabin that my Dad built. I loved the new Home for the Holidays set from Hero Arts the second I saw it. I also am a sucker for all things snowflakes, so I couldn’t wait to play with those too!

Card Details:

For this card, I ink blended on the bottom Distress Oxide in Faded Jeans and Seedless Preserves on the smooth side of a sheet of Distress Watercolor Cardstock. I then Watercolored the sky with some Tumbled Glass and Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide ink.

I stamped the log cabin in Vintage Photo Distress Oxide and with a wet brush I blended the lines out a bit. I stamped the trees in Evergreen Bough Oxide and filled in their trunks with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide. I added a touch of Prisma Glitter with a Quickie Glue pen to the details and snow on the house and trees.

I cut out the new Hero Arts Snowflake Edge Fancy Die with Lawn Fawn Prisma Sparkle Cardstock. I stamped the sentiment with Versafine Onyx Black from Winter Time Fun.

Card Details:

For this card, I did the same thing with the log cabin and trees as the previous card. I stamped the little snowman with Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide and blending it out with a wet brush. For the bottom 3rd of the card, I used a Stamp Positioner and Inked up the new Hero Arts Super & Spice Bold Background with Distress Oxide in Faded Jeans and Seedless Preserves. I gently misted it with the Distress Sprayer of water and stamped on the smooth side of Distress Watercolor Cardstock.

I stamped the sentiment from the new Bundled Up stamp set in Hero Arts Navy ink. I added some Lawn Fawn Chunky Glitter with a Lawn Fawn Glue Tube. Gotta love that sparkle!

Card Details:

For this last card, I ink blended all over the smooth side of a Distress Watercolor Cardstock Panel with Distress Oxides in Faded Jeans, Seedless Preserves, and Peacock Feathers. I then die cut out the new Snowflake & Ornaments Fancy Die. I cut a strip of vellum and embossed on it with Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide and ultra fine clear embossing powder “warm winter” from the Wishes stamp & cut set.

I die cut the word “wishes” from cardstock 4 times and once with Lawn Fawn Pixie Sparkle Cardstock. I layered them with a Lawn Fawn glue tube to create a dimensional sentiment.

Tip: if you wrap the vellum around your card you can use your dot runner to adhere to the back of the card, and you don’t have to worry about adhesive showing through the vellum.

Sorry if this duplicate my internet is being unfriendly .
The chance to live in a log cabin is marvellous, apart from the spiders, marvellous. Great blended cards, I struggled with blending no matter how I try but is great to see your three amazing cards where it’s been used, with stamps & dies like these no wonder you are snowflake obssessed.

Beautiful cards, Jenn!!! I love the log cabins and how you watercolored them. I’m still on the Distress Oxides fence so I’ll have to use my Distress inks to replicate the look. I just didn’t want to commit to full size ink pads so that’s the main reason why I’m hesitant to pull the trigger on the Oxides, but you are making it so tempting…. LOL

I love how you blended out the colors on your last card – so AMAZING!!

Great cards! Love the log cabin & house stamp set as well. We lived in a log cabin similar to this one, except we had a porch on the front & back with overhanging roof. My husband fell the trees, & did all the building.
