Hero Arts Blog Hop: Summer Catalog
Hi everyone! Welcome to the Hero Arts Summer Catalog Blog Hop! Libby knows I just LOVE to create ocean-inspired cards, so happy she invited me to be part of this hop! I also have some very special non-ocean cards to share too so be sure to read the whole post!

I am only sharing a few of the new products being released today, you can see the full release here. I was so inspired by the new products from Hero Arts I made a bunch of cards to share with you. Let’s get started!
Card Details:
For this card, I stamped and die-cut the Color Layering Orca with Distress Oxide inks (Blueprint Sketch, Salty Ocean, and Tumbled Glass).
I then created an inky background with Salvaged Patina Distress Spray Stain on some Distress White Heavystock. Next, I stamped the school of fish with Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide.
For the sentiment, I cut my own banner and cut the edge with the same stitched rectangle I used for the card panel. I ink blended another A2 panel with Blueprint Sketch Distress Ink and matted the card on there. Lastly, I added some iridescent sequins here and there.
Card Details:
For these cards, I used the new Barrel Wave HeroScape. This one is so easy to stamp, and I just love how it looks! I used Peacock Feathers and Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide inks. I then masked the waves to ink blend the sky using regular Distress Ink (Picked Raspberry, Kitsch Flamingo, Spiced Marmalade and Squeezed Lemonade).
Then, using Versafine Onyx Black ink I stamped the surfers and sentiments. So fun!! I added some iridescent confetti to each of the cards for a little sparkle. I matted each of the cards on different colored cardstock snd I just love how it really changes the feel of the card.
Card Details:
For this last set of cards, I used the new Hero Lifestyle RBG along with the previously released Lifestyle Forms die. Omgosh you guys, I had so much fun creating these little RBG’s – SO FUN!
I cut the body form and hair out of Neenah cardstock, and colored them with Copics. I then cut her robe, shoes, and glasses out of black cardstock. Her collar and crown are out of sparkle cardstock.
I dug out my typewriter and typed up some of RBG’s quotes that I really like. I also cut out “RBG” out of gold sparkle cardstock with Lawn Fawn’s Oliver ABCs. I filled in her shoes with a black glaze pen to give them a little shine.
I can see myself making a lot of these cards and sending them to all of my strong girlfriends for a little encouragement.

This new catalog from Hero Arts is amazing. They have wonderful products! I’ve had some of their wood mount stamps for many years and they still are going strong. Your cards were very nice and liked your watercolor background. Have to see my way clear to take one of your classes soon.
Oh, those water and beach scenes! Love the images of the whale and surfing with the beautiful colors. But the RBG cards are epic. The quotes with the paper doll, just perfection.

So so so excited for you Ms Jenn! I met you for the first time during the Crop & Create Cardmaking event this Spring. I’m more of a scrapbooker and went kicking and screaming to register for this event. I was one of the last to be contacted on the waitlist to join some other friends. But then, I was pleasantly surprised that card making is a whole different art than when I explored it 20 years ago! I’m extremely happy that I ended up in the event, made my 21 cards quickly and learned ALOT in this new era of stamping with mixed media, watercolors, paints, die-stamp combos, alcohol markers, etc. Oh myyyyyy! Needless to say, I got on to your newsletter right away. Loved your Lawn Fawn workshop Ms Jenn! I registered for a mini book event thru your newsletter hosted by Firefly. The kit is on its way and I’m so grateful that I got plugged into your site to boot! I grew up in CA (50 years), then relocated to OH for work for 6 years and recently retired in TN @ the foot of the Smokies in Knoxville. So, I’m getting closer and closer to the east coast where you are? Perhaps I can meet you in person one day. Tyou for all that you do in the industry Ms Jenn!
