It’s December and that means it is DieCember over at Simon Says Stamp! They are releasing all kinds of new exclusive dies! Heidi and the crew at Simon Says Stamp sent me a die ahead of time to play with and be able to share with you today! I LOVE it!! I have had the chance to make 2 cards so far and they were relatively quick and easy – so I can’t wait to replicate them and create more!
For the first card I used the Many Thanks clear stamp set that WPlus9 created exclusively for Simon Says Stamp. The flowers in this set coordinate with the new Single Rose Wafer Die so perfectly. I inked up the background with Milled Lavender Distress Ink. I then did some repetitive stamping with a few of the roses in the stamp set using Hero Arts Chalk Ink in Iris. I did a lot of second generation stamping to give a subtle look. I cut the roses and leaves out of SSS Slate Cardstock and adhered them flat to the card. I stamped Many Thanks in Slate SSS Ink. Lastly I covered the roses, leaves and word “thanks” with Sprinkled Sugar Stickles. All the supplies used below, be sure to keep scrolling to see the second card I created.
Many Thanks Card Supplies:
You’re going to get a kick out of how this second card came to be 😉 I was getting ready to photograph a bunch of projects I have to blog in the coming days, and I was cleaning up my studio table at the same time. Usually when I am watercoloring with Distress Inks I smoosh the color out on a laminated sheet of cardstock. I tend to keep the ink on there for a few days instead of cleaning it all the time and wasting the ink. So i had a bunch of different colors on the laminated sheet of cardstock and instead of wiping it clean, I gently spritzed it with water and plopped a piece of Distress Watercolor Cardstock onto it. Voila! That is the background you see above 🙂 I used stuck one side of a Ranger Adhesive Sheet to some cardstock and diecut the Single Rose Wafer Die. I adhered them to the background and peeled off the adhesive backing (which was on the top of the roses and leaves). I sprinkled them with Distress Rock Candy Dry Stickles. Lastly I stamped “you are remarkable” from the SSS Hand Lettered Encouragement Clear Stamp Set. I stamped it with black Versafine ink but it didn’t come out as dark as I wanted it to so I traced over the sentiment with a Black Glaze Pen.

Love the water colors on the second card! The bright pink and black on the first card really look fabulous together. 🙂
[This may be a duplicate comment. Transmission challenges] Sometimes when I am water coloring, the sheet that I am mixing my colors is frequently prettier than what I am working on. The colors on you second card – Your un-planned “surprise” water color – are exquisite. Adding the die cuts were perfect.
I sometimes think that the area where I am mixing my watercolors can be prettier than what I am acutally working on. Your non-planned surprised watercolor on you second card is exquisite!
your card is wonderful
have a nice day
