Get Cracking: Meowy Christmas

Ok, let’s be honest.

November rolls around and we say to ourselves “man I should’ve started making holiday cards A LOT sooner.”

or

“I have so many wicked cute holiday sets that I haven’t even had a chance to play with yet.”

I am going to guess that most of you who are reading this post fall into one if not both of those scenarios. So last year  I was talking with my crafty friends and I mentioned it would be fun to challenge each other to create at least one-holiday card a month. I mean, that would give me 12 handmade holiday cards to send out this year and that would be way more then I sent out last year.

So each month on the third Thursday I am going to post a holiday creation and hopefully inspire you to create one too!

Get Cracking: Meowy Christmas

Gus Gus, Jac, and Mister Harley have “tried” to be NICE for Santa to see so they get lots of presents! I love creating cards that tell a story! Makes it more fun as you are coloring, cutting and assembling. Using Mama Elephants “Oh Kitty Tree” and “Santa’s Sleigh” to create this fun holiday card.

I started by coloring 3 of the kitties to match mine, and then the Santa- all in non-traditional holiday colors, which is my fave! For the background, I did a little ink smooshing with Peacock Feathers and Spun Sugar Distress Ink on Distress Watercolor Cardstock.

For the sentiment I white embossed on Lawn Fawn Peacock Cardstock, and cut out one of the Everyday Sentiment Banners.

I framed the whole scene in with a Stitched Rectangle Frame that I cut out of Lawn Fawn Pixie Dust Cardstock.

For finishing touches, I added some Prisma Glitter and Chunky Glitter. I also added some white Liquid Applique to the Santa.
