Get Cracking: JOY

Get cracking on Christmas | shurkus.com

Ok, let’s be honest.

November rolls around and we say to ourselves “man I should’ve started making holiday cards A LOT sooner.”

or

“I have so many wicked cute holiday sets that I haven’t even had a chance to play with yet.”

I am going to guess that most of you who are reading this post fall into one if not both of those scenarios. So last year  I was talking with my crafty friends and I mentioned it would be fun to challenge each other to create at least one-holiday card a month. I mean, that would give me 12 handmade holiday cards to send out this year and that would be way more then I sent out last year.

So each month on the third Thursday I am going to post a holiday creation and hopefully inspire you to create one too! I lost track of my Thursdays this month, so I am a week late. OOPS!

If you do end up making any please leave a comment below with a link, or tag me on instagram so I can see! We are also going to use the hashtag #getcrackingonchristmas

We can do this! We can create holiday cards all year, and be a little bit more prepared for the holiday season!

Cards don’t need to be complicated. This one didn’t take me long at all. I stamped out the J-Y and snowflake from Mama Elephant’s JOY Ornaments set. I colored them in with 2 Copics. R29 and R35. I die cut them out.

On a piece of Distress Woodgrain Cardstock, I stamped the ornament strings and arranged the letters using 3M foam tape.

Lastly, I stamped “Merry Christmas” from Mama Elephants Scripty Xmas set. I traced the sentiment with a black glaze pen

Any stamping I did on the woodgrain cardstock I did with the Misti. I wanted to be sure it stamped clearly on the textured cardstock.

My friend Cheiron is joining me this month so be sure to pop on over and see what she made, then, your turn to make a holiday card! I can’t wait to see what you make 🙂
