Encouragement Cards, United We Craft

We are wicked excited that you’re joining the EPIC United We Craft party! We hope this inspires you to CREATE! There are over 100 people sharing inspiration today! W🤩W! You can see a full list over on the Simon Says Stamp Blog.

We know during this time that we are staying at home we miss the social interaction we used to have as part of our daily lives. Social media is proving to help fill that void. I know I have loved keeping in touch with creative peeps through my site here, in my {creative chick} studio share Facebook Group, on Instagram, and through Facebook LIVE’s I have been hosting on my Facebook Page. I also have had fun FaceTiming or ZOOM’ing some crafty friends here and there 💙

I haven’t gotten Chris to create with me yet… there is still time 😉However, I always have 1, 2 or 3 kitties joining me in my studio. I am thankful for their company and snuggles and love.

For those that want to know:

• upper left if Gus and Mister Harley (Gus is really wanting THAT cat bed)
• upper right is Gus
• lower left is our baby Jac (don’t let his innocent face fool you, he is a TROUBLEMAKER)
• lower right is Mister Harley Kitten Shurkus (who is a very patient big brother, and turning 12 on April 12th 💙)

Encouragement Cards, United We Craft

I wanted to create some bright and cheery cards that I would be able to send out to friends. Using the Simon Says Stamp Layered Tulips Stamp Set I was able to make a few cards fairly quickly.

I used a Misti, and Distress Oxide Inks.

Stamp the first step, which I did the main leaves using Twisted Citron Distress Oxide. Then stamp them on as many backgrounds as you would like to create.

Then I did the shadow on the leaves with Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide.

Next up was the main part of the tulips in Picked Raspberry, and then the detail of the tulips with Festive Berries.

I have to say this set was SO easy to line up… and because there are only 4 steps to fill a whole card it was easy peasy!

Next, I used the Cloud for Days stencil to add some clouds to the top. For this part, I used blending brushes and Peacock Feathers Distress Ink

Full disclosure, I had a few “mistakes” on the edges of a couple of the backgrounds I made, so for those, I just cut out with smaller Stitched Rectangles.

Then I went through my sentiment stamps and found bold, bright and cheery sentiments to use.

Lastly, I added a few Moonshine sequins with a glue tube.

Although Simon Says Stamp is unable to ship at the moment, they would love for their customers and followers to fill up their carts and wish lists so that when we get through this, it’s all systems GO!
