Distress Oxide Thank You Cards

05/31/2017

Time for a NEW Simon Says Stamp Wednesday ChallengeHey, everyone! Welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge! Thank you to everyone who joined us for our challenge last week and we hope you will all join us again this week too. This week the challenge is Anything Goes!

We are featuring Technique Tuesday Products this week. You don’t have to use them to join in with the challenge, but if you have them we would love to see them used! As always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away $50 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store! YAY!

Distress Oxide Thank You Cards

I had a ton of fun mixing regular Distress Inks AND Distress Oxide Inks.

Regular Distress Inks:

  • Picked Raspberry
  • Twisted Citron
  • Carved Pumpkin

Distress Oxide Inks:

  • Broken China
  • Fossilized Amber

I ink-smooshed on Distress Mixed Media Heavy Stock Cardstock. I then die cut out the rectangles with Lawn Fawn’s Cross-stitched Rectangles.

I stamped a variety of thank you sentiments from Technique Tuesday’s cute “Say It Thanks” set.

Say It Thanks, Technique Tuesday

I stamped the sentiments in Versafine Onyx Black Ink, but to make the word “thanks” really POP I used a Black Glaze Pen and traced over the word.

Ok- so now it’s time for YOU to enter the challenge. Remember, Anything Goes! Just by playing along and linking up your project to the SSS Wednesday Challenge post you can qualify to enter a $50 shopping voucher to the Simon Says Stamp store.

I absolutely love these cards! I have seen many tutorials using the new Oxide inks but have yet to buy any. Seeing these cards made me decide to finally purchase some. My question is did you put the Oxide down first then add the regular distress inks or did you do the opposite? Do you have a video on this? Would love to see one! Thank you again!!!

The backgrounds totally ROCK!! I still am not in love with my Oxides. I have sat down and played but they just don’t “wow” me. Perhaps because they don’t have my favorite Distress colors available in them? Not sure but you make me want to give them another try!!

Great cards! Love the backgrounds you created. I’ve got the Oxides for some time but I definitely have to play with them more.

Gorgeous mix of Distress Inks and Distress Oxide inks. Did you smoosh the Distress inks 1st and then the DOX inks? Or either /or? Love the artsy look of all your cards and wonderful Thank You sentiments from just one set 🙂 TFS Jenn. Hugs…
