The summer release was packed with so many fun goodies. I hopped on the lemon train for the last Create with Us, our free mini classes, and you can still catch the replay if you missed it.
Buzzin’ By to Say, Lawn Fawn
This time I wanted to play with some of the bee-themed stuff. I meant to use more of the new release, but the card had a mind of its own, and this is where it went.
I started by stenciling the background with the new Bee Happy Background Stencil and Lawn Fawn inks. As always, all the supplies I used are listed below.
I then used my exclusive Honeycomb Stencil, traced it with Distress Watercolor Pencils onto Distress Watercolor cardstock, and watercolored each of the comb sections using Mustard Seed, Scattered Straw, and a little Tea Dye here and there. I fussy cut out the comb shapes and added them to the background, then die-cut the whole piece with the Outside In Stitched Scalloped Rectangle Stackable Die.
Next, I stamped and colored the images with Copic markers. As always, I’m sharing the marker swatch below.
I added a touch of sparkle with a Quickie Glue Pen and Prisma Glitter. The sentiment was white heat embossed on black cardstock, and I die-cut “Bee Day” from the Stitched Oliver’s ABCs and watercolored the letters. I adhered all these elements to the card with foam squares and foam strips, and finished it off with some Glossy Accents on the honeycomb the bear is holding for a bit of extra dimension and shine.
