Hey everyone! Welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge!
Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Touchy Feely challenge last week and we hope you will all join us again this week too.
This week the challenge is Bit O’ Green! Remember you can enter up to 5 times! 🙂 We are showcasing Clearly Besotted Products this week. You don’t have to use them to join in but if you have some we would love to see them used.
I had this cute little whale set in my stash and thought this would be a fun time to use it. I know when you read “Bit O’ Green” you probably think St. Patricks Day, but I wanted to break that mold and go for a simple greeting instead!
Since the whale stamp is a solid stamp I used a few different Distress Inks right on the stamp starting with Cracked Pistachio I inked the whole image, and then dabbed a little bit of Lucky Clover on the bottom of the image. I gently spritzed it with water and then stamped it onto Distress Watercolor Cardstock. I heat set the whale and then added some detail with the Uni-ball Signo White Gel pen.
I inked up and stamped the whale spray with Cracked Pistachio.
For the waves, I cut 3 strips of waves from the Lawn Fawn Wave Borders. I spritzed them with water and then with a paintbrush dabbed on some Salty Ocean Distress Ink. Spritzed with water again to move the color around and heat set. I layered the waves and cut them with the Lawn Fawn stitched journaling card. I also cut a full stitched journaling card and layered the waves on it. I tucked the whale into the waves and added a few clouds from Lawn Fawn Spring Showers.
The sentiment strip I stamped from Clearly Besotted A Little Sentimental set using Lawn Fawn Noble Fir Ink. I then cut the sides with the Stitched Journaling card so that it would layer on the waves nicely.
Lastly I used some foam tape to adhere the Stitched Journaling Card to a Lawn Fawn Notecard.
