Hey, everyone! Welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge! Thank you to everyone who joined us for our challenge last week and we hope you will all join us again this week too. This week the challenge is Tag It!
We are featuring Ranger Products this week. You don’t have to use them to join in with the challenge, but if you have them we would love to see them used! As always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away $50 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store! YAY!
Embrace Adventure, Mixed Media Tag, Ranger Ink
If you follow my blog you may realize I am a bit of a Ranger Junkie. I have always loved their products and the fact that there are so many techniques you can do with them. Housed under the Ranger name is, of course, all the amazing Tim Holtz Distress products but also fabulous items by Dina Wakley, Archival Inks, Surfaces, Stickles in every color, and more! Needless to say, I am always excited when we are featuring Ranger because I can dig around in all of the fun products I have and truly have a chance to play, I did just that on this fun mixed media tag!
I started out by creating a background with Distress Oxide and regular Distress Inks. You can see a tutorial I shared on the Simon Says Stamp blog here.
Next, I spread some Texture Paste Opaque Crackle through Tim Holtz’s Blocks Layering Stencil and let it dry. I love how the inks seep through the cracks. I then inked some words from the Traveler and Halloween Stencil with the ink blending tool and Ground Espresso Distress Ink here and there.
On a separate piece od Mixed Media Cardstock I stamped the cat from Tim’s new Hipster stamp set. I watercolored the cat with Distress Inks to look like Mister Harley (of course). I then fussy cut him out. I stamped him again directly on the tag so that his whiskers and hair would still be there. I then adhered the fussy cut out one to the tag with Distress Collage Medium Matte.
To finish off the tag I added 2 layers of glossy accents to his glasses, being sure each layer dries in between. Then I traced the glasses with lime Stickles. Lastly, I added “embrace adventure” from some Small Talk Idea-ology Stickers.
Ok- so now it’s time for YOU to enter the challenge. Remember, Tag You’re It! Just by playing along and linking up your project to the SSS Wednesday Challenge post you can qualify to enter a $50 shopping voucher to the Simon Says Stamp store.
I really hope to see some of my blog readers join in on all the fun and play along with the challenge. I can’t wait to stop by some of your blogs and take a peek at what you have made. Have a wicked fun time creating!
