Alright, now to the fun card I have to share with you-
shine, Lawn Fawnatics
I decided to create a card inspired by Jem and the Holograms! I was a child of the 80’s, and this is one of my iconic memories. I started by die cutting the word “shine” using Louie’s ABCs out of Distress White Heavystock. I also cut out a star from the Stitched Star Frames set.
I then ink blended the letters, star, and another piece of Distress White Heavystock with Lawn Fawn inks; Bubblegum, Sunflower, and Sugarplum. I used Honey Bee Stamps blender brushes (that I store in my favorite brush caddy). As always whenever I am ink blending I love to use the Ink Stands to hold my ink pads, I also use a small mister bottle filled with Isopropyl Alcohol, to quickly clean my table surface (which is made of glass) with a Flour Sack Cloth.
When ink blending, a full background, I find it easier to get a nice smooth blend with larger blender brushes. I love the Honey Bee Stamps brushes, and I store them on my desk in the Layer Cake Blender Caddy, which holds 20 and takes up little room!
I then used the Just Stitching Stars set to add a few stitched stars onto the background.
I then die-cut the letters and star out of Black Licorice cardstock, and layered them behind the ink blended ones. I also white embossed a sentiment from Super Star onto black cardstock. Whenever I do ANY embossing, I prep the surface using the Cottontail Embossing Powder Tool. I stamp the sentiment several times over using a Misti and Yeti white pigment ink, then sprinkle the Alabaster White embossing powder from Brutus Monroe.
I added the letters and sentiment to the card, then I painted a white frame using Dr. Ph. Martin’s bleed proof white. I then added some glossy accents to the edge of some of the stars, and sprinkled Prisma Glitter over that. Lastly, I added a few sequins to the card as well.
