Note: Click here for today’s Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge
Last month I guest designed for Newton’s Nook Designs and I didn’t get a chance to create a card for their Inky Paws Challenge but I really wanted to! So today I have the card I had a chance to create last week.
There is still time to enter the challenge– you have until Friday June 12th at midnight CDT. I really loved this color combo and my intentions were to stick to it- but I had a hard time getting the coral color. Oh well! Part of card challenges is to get your creative juices flowing and you don’t need to be exact. I love the card I created and that is all that matters 🙂
I stamped out all watermelon images from Newton’s Nook Sweet Summer Clear Stamp set and then used watercolor pencils to color them. This took a lot longer then I thought, but I really wanted to add the shading and dimension. I then stamped the sentiment with the Hero Arts Ombre Pink to Red Ink Pad. Everything is adhered flat to the card. I then embellished it a bit using Sprinkled Sugar Stickles (this is a newer stickles color and I LOVE it) and I also used white opal liquid pearls on the hearts. You can see this better on the detail shots below.
I have used used dryer sheets to make clouds look “cloudy” to stacked them to make them more puffy!
This is gorgeous! I love the ombré melon slices and the pretty touch of liquid pearls on the hearts!
Thanks so much for playing along with our inky paws challenge!
Hi Jenn, Love your card! This is Kim from the Lawn Fawn class last night at Papercraft Clubhouse! Had a great time playing and learning new techniques from you. I sent you an email.
Thanks again,
Kim
