Hello From Cape Cod , Lawn Fawnatics

I think one of my most favorite thing to do with Lawn Fawn images is to create SCENES. It’s so fun to make up a story on a card.  Remember the only rule, is to use at least ONE Lawn Fawn item.

Hello From Cape Cod , Lawn Fawnatics

With the new slimline size, it gives us an even larger canvas to create our scenes. I had a lot of fun with this one.

As most of you know, I love Cape Cod, where I live. I was able to treat myself to the first beach day of the season this week, and it was glorious. I wanted this card to really represent a true Cape Cod beach day. I will share how I did that in the details below.

I used the following stamp sets:

• You Are Sublime: lobster, seaweed
• Mermaid For You: large rock, school of fish
• So Jelly: jellyfish
• Life is Good: sandcastle, crab, pail & shovel, seashells
• On The Beach: beach ball, sunscreen, seashells

I ink blended some Stitched Waves with Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide. I also layered one stitched wave cut out of pearlescent vellum. For the sky I created the clouds with the Lawn Fawn Cloudy stencil and Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide ink.

I created the beach with the Simple Stitched Hillside Borders and ink blended it with Tea Dye Distress Oxide.

For the sentiment, I used the scripty “hello” from Yay Kites and then stamped “from cape cod” with Smitty’s ABC’s. I sprinkled some Chunky Glitter here and there along with some sequins. I added a touch of glossy accents on the sunscreen bottle.

Cape Cod is very much a lobster place… or should I say “lobstah” 😉 . Our waters are a beautiful crisp, clear blue. Come august as the water warms up a bit, the beach I goto will have jellyfish in the water sometimes. Often people are creating sandcastles on the beach and it is fun to watch the seagulls capture crabs from the water.

I hope this card gives you the sense that you are sitting on the beach with me on Cape Cod!
