A year ago today, just by chance I met this incredible guy. (we love telling that story on how we met, just ask 🙂 )
A year later, I am embracing this relationship with all my heart. I am reflecting on my one little word for the year in so many aspects of my life. embrace.
This is another time in my life i am reminded that everything truly happens for a reason.
We were immediately drawn to one another, comfortable with the other and started building a friendship. I’m not going to say everything has been perfect along this journey- life isn’t perfect- but everything has been incredibly e-a-s-y. I also learned very early in life that you need to work hard for things that matter, and i’m ok with that. I am still amazed and in awe at how well he and I do this “relationship” thing – still getting used to a healthy relationship- one with communication and trust and genuine love. Chris has fit into my life seamlessly. He loves mister harley, he loves my artsy side, he loves my friends. He will sit on a beach with me for hours and hours. He accepts my stubbornness and opinionated ways. He loves that i wear flip flops 348 days a year. He tolerates me complaining about winter, even when we lose power for 3 days and i am brought to tears because i am so cold. We make each other laugh and have fun together no matter what it is we are doing. We have a ridiculous amount of things in common and have enjoyed sharing some of our unique interests/likes with one another. I love his “geekiness”, and how laid back he is. I love holding his hand where ever we are going. I love sipping martinis and sharing oysters. He is one of the most genuine, thoughtful and caring guys I know. Chris has helped me SO much in setting up my loft, and getting my new studio space set up. I am so thankful Chris has come into my life, and grateful that i patiently waited and didn’t settle.
I often said I was waiting to be swept off my feet, he did that. He swept me off my feet.
I love you Chris, thank you for putting a smile on my face every day. I thank my lucky stars everyday that you are in my life.
