Welcome to the Seasons Givings Blog Hop! This is such a fabulous hop that Latisha organizes each year and I love being part of it. It’s a BIG one, which means there are a lot of prizes to be won- be sure to hop to all of them and see what everyone has in store for you. Some of you might be new around here, so I thought I would share a little bit about me: I am Jenn Shurkus, and I consider myself to be a “creative chick” 😉 I used to manage a local papercrafting store and all of us girls who worked there were the “creative chicks” so I have carried on that tradition. I live on Cape Cod in MA. I am obsessed with the ocean and am part mermaid. I wear flip flops 363 days a year. I am a fur baby mama, my boyfriend Chris and I have 3 kitties we adore; Mister Harley, Gus Gus, and Jac. You can see pics of them on their own instagram account here. 2019 was a FUN year for me. It is the second year where I was fully self-employed! I teach in person and online papercrafting classes. I teach at trade shows for Lawn Fawn. I host Art Retreats on Cape Cod, Creative Journey Art Retreat.  I also host Crop on the Cape on Cape Cod MA, and 2020 will be our 21st year!! Crop on the Cape is fast approaching in March, and there are still a few seats available- would love to have you join us! More details here.

In 2019 I traveled and taught in 12 different states, 2 provinces in Canada, 3 trade shows and 15 independent stores! That’s a lot of Lawn Fawn classes, and meeting a lot of creative peeps!

I also have been busy planning my classes for 2020 and will be sharing more details about that soon! I absolutely LOVE teaching and can’t wait to do more of it in the next year.

  • Hi, I’ve just started getting into all things crafty, I feel like such a beginner looking at all the stuff on Facebook and Instagram!

    I’ve followed and joined everything that I can in order to learn more and when my husband wakes up I’ll be asking him about a trip to the cape around mid March! We have taken out summer holidays (were from the UK) in the Cape for the last 2 summers and we just adore it. I ran the Falmouth road race last August. I did, however, attend some of your classes at PCC in Westbrook, CT! Here’s a side note for you, my Cape Cod girl. My grandfather built and ran the Candlelight Motor Lodge (as it was originally called) on Main St. in Hyannis. He sold it in the early 70s. It’s still there – not sure what it’s called now.
