Dreams Comes True, Lawn Fawnatics

Hi friends! Today I’m sharing a little bit of magic: a dreamy rainbow scene starring a sweet dragon and two mice from the Critters Ever After set. It’s one of Lawn Fawn’s older sets, and it was so much fun to pull it back out and give it some love. Add a watercolor sky, a big sunny smile and a sprinkle of sparkle, and you’ve got a card that says “may all your dreams come true.”
A soft, watercolor sky
I started with the background. I placed the Lawn Fawn Cloudy stencil on my card base and traced along the cloud edges with a Distress Watercolor Pencil. Then I took a wet brush and pulled the color out from those lines to paint the clouds. It gives such a soft, dreamy sky, with just a hint of deeper color along each cloud’s edge.
Setting the scene with a rainbow
To frame my little story, I used the Postage Stackable Rectangle dies. On the inner panel, I used stencils and ink blended a full rainbow with Lawn Fawn inks. That bright gradient makes the perfect magical backdrop and really pops against the white postage frame.
Watercolored die cuts
Next, I die-cut a few pieces from Distress Watercolor Cardstock:
- The clouds and sun from Spring Showers
- The stitched rainbow and the clouds from the Rainbow Shadow Box Add-On
I watercolored every piece with Distress Watercolor Pencils. The watercolor texture ties them right back to the painted sky behind them.
Coloring the critters
The dragon, the two mice, the crown and the magic wand are all colored with Copic markers. I gave the dragon leafy greens with pink wings and spots, and the mice soft grays with rosy cheeks and ears. You can see all of the Copic colors I used in the swatches below.

Putting it all together
With all my pieces ready, I built the scene. The sentiment “may all your dreams come true” is spread across the clouds and the rainbow panel.
Then came the fun part, the sparkle! I added:
- A sprinkle of Distress Rock Candy Chunky on the clouds
- Iridescent sequins scattered across the scene
- Tiny stars
- Little hearts I cut with the Hearts and Stars Skinny Tag dies and watercolored to match
I love how this magical card turned out, and it was such a treat to bring the Critters Ever After set back out to play. Thanks so much for stopping by, and may all your dreams come true!
