Alright, now to the fun cards I have to share with you-
Party Parade, House Mouse, Spellbinders

I will always love creating with House Mouse stamps, and I am so excited that Spellbinders has them available. These stamps were some of the very first stamps I ever owned when I started cardmaking years ago, and they still make me smile every time I use them.
These particular images were new to me, and they were so fun to create with!
After reading through the details below, you will find a full supply list at the bottom of this post so you can easily recreate these cards.
Stamping the Images
For the mouse in the tub, I stamped the image using River Rock Lawn Fawn Ink. This is a gray waterproof ink that works really well for watercoloring.
For the party parade mice, I stamped the image using Crunchy Leaf Lawn Fawn Ink, which is a brown waterproof ink.
I really love using gray or brown inks like these when I plan to watercolor because they give the images a softer look than stamping with black ink.
Watercoloring
Once the images were stamped, I colored them with Distress Watercolor Pencils. These pencils are one of my favorite ways to watercolor because they allow you to add color gradually and blend it out with water for soft shading.
The mice were so fun to bring to life, especially the bubbly bath scene and the little party parade with balloons and hats!
Finishing the Cards
After the coloring was finished, I trimmed the panels down to 4” x 5.25”.
To give the cards a little extra interest and a soft frame, I ink blended the card bases before adhering the panels.
For embellishments, I kept things simple but added a few fun details:
- Glossy Accents on some of the bubbles in the bath scene
- Prisma Glitter on the balloons and party hats for a little sparkle
These little touches add just the right amount of shine and dimension without taking away from the images.
I had so much fun creating these cards and revisiting House Mouse images again. They always bring such a playful and nostalgic feel to cardmaking, and they are perfect for watercolor techniques.
