Get Cracking: Watercolored Ornaments

Be sure to read to the end as I have a fun little giveaway to share!
I’m excited to share a festive holiday card today that features some of the gorgeous new Pinkfresh Studio dies and stamps, paired with my go-to Distress Watercolor Pencils.
For this design, I wanted to capture a soft, nostalgic feel, something that felt a bit vintage but still bright and cheerful. I started with the Evergreen Sparkle coverplate background for subtle interest. Then I die cut and watercolored the Timeless Tidings die to get the holly and ornaments with Distress Watercolor Pencils. These pencils blend beautifully and let me layer soft washes of color that almost glow on the page.
The holly and berries at the top of the card add a pop of traditional holiday greenery, while the gold accents and splatters bring in that extra sparkle. To finish it all off, I heat-embossed the sentiment “Once Upon a Christmas” in gold, because what’s Christmas without a little shimmer?
Of course I wanted a little sparkle, so I added some Distress Rock Candy and some Glossy Accents on the berries.
I love how versatile the Pinkfresh products are, and how easily they pair with the Distress Watercolor Pencils. This card came together with just a handful of supplies but feels full of detail and texture.
I can’t wait to walk you through the process during my YouTube LIVE.
