It’s no secret, I absolutely love creating with Newton’s Nook! Their products are packed with charm and creativity, making them a joy to design with. I’m also incredibly thankful for their continued support, they’ve sponsored every single Creative Journey Art Retreat I’ve hosted, all the way back to when I was running them out of my cozy 900-square-foot loft in 2014!
I’m thrilled to be celebrating their 12th anniversary, what an amazing milestone!

Now… let’s dive into the fun card I have to share!
Purr Ever Young, Newton’s Nook

I had so much fun creating with the new Cat Birthday stamp set from Newton’s Nook! While there’s a coordinating die set available, I was in the mood for some good ol’ masking—so that’s the direction I went with this card. I stamped and colored each of the adorable kitties, then masked them off to create a colorful background.
Below, I’ve listed the Copic markers I used for each type of cat. If you’re curious about alcohol markers or just starting your Copic journey, my Copic 101 online class is a great place to begin, it even includes a handy workbook.

Once the kitties were masked, I ink-blended the background using Distress Inks in Kitsch Flamingo, Salvaged Patina, and Twisted Citron. Then, I layered on some festive detail with the Newton’s Nook Confetti stencil and coordinating Distress Oxide inks.
To finish the card, I used the large postage-edge die from one of my current faves, the Framework Die Set, and layered it onto a fun print from the new Birthday Time 6×6 patterned paper pad.

For the sentiment, I ink-blended a piece of Distress White Heavystock in the same ombré palette, then die-cut the top layer of the new Happy Birthday die. The shadow layer is cut from sparkle cardstock, because of course, I had to add a touch of shimmer throughout the design!
I hope this card brings a little crafty inspiration your way. And now, help me wish Newton’s Nook a Happy 12th Birthday! 🎉 Head over to my Instagram page to join the celebration hop for more inspiration and a chance at some fun giveaways!
