Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Happy Birthday!

04/1/2015

Time for a NEW Simon Says Stamp Wednesday ChallengeI am back with a Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge card! Thank you for joining us for the Anything Goes challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too. This week the challenge is Happy Birthday! Please make a happy birthday celebration creation! We are celebrating our 6th Birthday! Our 1st ever challenge was on Wednesday 1st April 2009, and we would like to take this opportunity to thank YOU all for joining in with the challenges!

We are showcasing our very own Simon Says Stamp Exclusive Products this week. You don’t have to use them to join in but if you have some we would love to see them used. To mark this special occasion Simon Says Stamp will be giving away not 1 but 6 $50 vouchers to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store!

When I made this card I was super busy getting ready for the March Loft Art Retreat so I needed a quick and easy design. Here is what I came up with using Simon Says Stamp Best Fishes, Simon Says Stamp Irregular Dots Stencilย  AND the new Mermaid Lagoon Distress Ink.

I started by spreading some Ranger Texture Paste through the SSS Irregular Dots Stencil, on Distress Watercolor Cardstock. I then heat set it and spread around some Mermaid Lagoon Distress Ink. I spritzed it with water to move the color around, and heat set it again.

On another sheet of Distress Watercolor Cardstock I stamped and colored the fishes with Distress Ink and a waterbrush. I fussy cut out the fishes and arranged them on the card. I then added some Waterfall Stickles for bubbles and Glossy Accents on their eyeballs. I added the sentiment in Versafine Onyx Black.
