Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous: Holiday Fun!

Clean & Simple Holiday Card
I don’t often make clean and simple cards, but the new Christmas Doodle stamp set from Tim Holtz begged for it. I stamped each image directly onto the background and did some simple coloring with Copic Markers. Next, I white embossed a few of the sentiments onto black cardstock, trimmed them into strips, and popped them onto the card with black foam strips. I added a touch of sparkle to the images with Distress Rock Candy Clear and ran some Distress Rock Candy Chunky around the edge of the panel. Finish with a few gem stickers and you’re good to go! This card is easy to recreate, so you could make a whole stack quickly.

Elegant Holly Card
For this card, I stamped one of the holly bunches from the new Holiday Botanical set, colored it with Distress Watercolor Pencils, and fussy cut it out. I ran a black marker around the edges so no white edge would show. Next, I gold embossed the sentiment directly onto the background panel, then painted bold blue watercolor brushstrokes over it, leaving some white space for a loose, painterly look. I splattered on some Fossilized Amber Distress Spritz and added the holly to the card with foam squares. To finish, I used my finger to add Distress Liquid Tinsel to the leaves, put Glossy Accents on the berries to make them shine, and added a few Gold Glitter Drops.

Vintage Santa Card
And here he is, the new Santa! He’s part of the Festive Schematic set. I stamped him in Lawn Fawn Crunchy Leaf ink and watercolored him with Distress Watercolor Pencils in soft pinks, reds, and lavender, letting the color bleed out past the image for a dreamy, vintage feel. I splattered some Fossilized Amber Distress Spritz across the background for a touch of gold. After trimming the panel, I ran a paper distresser along the edges for texture and used my finger to spread Distress Liquid Tinsel over them. I also added a touch of Distress Rock Candy Clear to the white trim and the pom-pom on his hat. The sentiment is white embossed on black cardstock, trimmed into a strip, and added to the card with foam squares.

Winter Scene Card
This snowy little scene features one of my favorites, a snowman! It’s part of the Christmas Spirit set. I stamped the scene in Lawn Fawn River Rock ink and watercolored it with Distress Watercolor Pencils, then gold embossed the sentiment directly onto the background panel. I splattered on some Dr. Ph. Martin’s Bleed Proof White for falling snow and added Distress Rock Candy Chunky to all the snowy bits.

Dashing Through the Snow Card
This last card just might be my favorite! I used the new Wonderment set and started by stamping and embossing the sentiment. I stamped it several times in Uncharted Mariner Distress Oxide ink using my stamp platform, so the ink would be wet enough to hold onto clear ultrafine embossing powder. Then I stamped the snowman directly onto the background panel and again on masking paper. I cut out the mask, placed it over the snowman, and ink blended the background with Distress Inks for a bright, vivid sky. Tiny white stars and snowflakes were added with a fine-tip white Uni Posca pen. I colored the sweet snowman with Copics, gave the shadows on him some sparkle with Distress Rock Candy Clear, and added Glossy Accents to his heart. The snowbank got a generous layer of Distress Snowflakes for some sparkly, frosty texture. So fun and so cheerful!
