The Simple Things, Pinkfresh Studio

I’m sharing a soft, pretty card today made with the Pinkfresh Gentle Bloomscape Dies and Layering Stencils. I went with cool aqua and teal blooms on a warm, neutral background, and I love how they play off each other.

Blending the blooms

I started by ink blending the flowers, leaves and buds with the Gentle Bloomscape Layering Stencils with Pinkfresh inks in Eucalyptus, Spruce Tips, Lush Forest, Tidal Pond and Aquamarine. Then I used the coordinating dies to cut them out. The stencils make it so easy to build soft dimension and those pretty petal details. I kept the flowers in shades of aqua and teal and used the deeper greens on the leaves so everything stays cohesive but still stands out.

A simple watercolor background

Once all my blooms were blended and cut out, I made a quick, loose watercolor wash on the background with the Antique Linen Distress Watercolor Pencil. I love this color because it gives a warm, vintage look without taking over. I let the edges stay organic, added a few little splatters, and distressed the edges of the panel before mounting it on my card base.

A foiled sentiment

For the sentiment, I hot foiled “Just a note” with the Glimmer II and the Simply Said Press Plate. The gold foil adds just the right amount of shine and ties in nicely with the warm tones in the background.

Finishing touches

To finish things off, I added touches of Distress Rock Candy Clear glitter to the petals for a subtle shimmer, and scattered some Champagne Glitter Drops around the arrangement for a little extra sparkle.
