Witching You a Spooky Halloween, Lawn Fawn

I’ve mentioned this before, but I’ll remind you all, I love creating Halloween cards because you get to let your imagination run wild and build these magical, spooky little scenes. And spooky doesn’t have to mean scary, which is exactly the vibe I was going for with this card.
I wanted to use the Spiderweb Backdrop die in a way I hadn’t tried before, so I cut it with sparkle cardstock and layered it onto a piece of acetate creating a window. That means the front of the card, with its glittery web, bubbling cauldron, actually gives you a sneak peek into the scene tucked inside the card before you’ve even opened it! Once you do open it up, you’re greeted with a whole second nighttime scene: a caped kitty out for a night of trick-or-treating, pumpkin in hand, with bats swooping past a big glowing moon.
I love making nighttime skies in a variety of different ways, and this one came together with Distress Oxide Inks and the Lawn Fawn moon stencil for that soft, glowing full moon. Then I splattered on some Gansai Tambi Opal paint, which is quickly becoming one of my favorite palettes to reach for, and added in some bats and stars for good measure.
You can probably guess that this won’t be the last card you see from me featuring the new Build-A-Cat dies, this is just the beginning!
And for my east coast fawnie bestie, yes, I used Stickles! You’ll find them sparkling on the cat’s bowtie inside the card, and dripping all through that glittery potion bubbling out of the cauldron on the front.
Watch for more fun Halloween cards coming your way soon, I have plenty more spooky-cute scenes up my sleeve. All of the supplies I used are listed below, and if you love this style, be sure to check out my online classes with this same Halloween theme!
