Hey crafty friends! 👋 I’m popping in to share a card I made using some of my favorite Tim Holtz stamps and stencils from Stampers Anonymous.
Fun fact: Stampers Anonymous doesn’t retire their Tim Holtz designs, so there’s a huge library of awesome stamps and stencils you might not have seen in a while (or totally forgot you had 😉).
Hope this project sparks some inspiration to dig into your stash and get creative! ✨

Wicked, Spooky, EEK! – A Glow-in-the-Dark Halloween Card, Tim Holtz

Hi friends! Halloween is almost here, and this year I wanted a card that’s a little wicked, a little spooky, and full of color. Wait until you see it in the dark!
Making the glowing background
I started with a panel of Distress Black Heavystock and spread Distress Grit Paste Glow over it through a stencil. Once the paste was completely dry, I sprayed Distress Oxide Sprays over the top. The colors soak into the textured paste and look great against the black cardstock. I love how the gritty texture catches the color. It looks like spooky cobblestones!
Stamping and embossing the words
Next I stamped “wicked,” “spooky,” and “eek” several times with VersaFine Onyx Black ink and heat embossed them with clear embossing powder. Embossed outlines keep the color inside the letters when you watercolor.
Adding color and shine
I filled in the letters with Distress Watercolor Pencils. Then I added a generous layer of Glossy Accents over the letters for a shiny, raised finish. It makes the colors pop! For a bit of sparkle and texture, I added Distress Rock Candy Chunky around the edges of each word.

Now for the fun part… check out the glow!
Turn off the lights and the whole background glows! It’s like a little haunted secret hiding in your card. 👻
Thanks for stopping by! I hope this inspires you to make something a little wicked this Halloween.
