I *totally* get the winter blues! I can’t complain too much about this winter, as the weather has been unusually mild. I still miss the hot temps, and sun, and beach days…. i live for those beach days! It’s no secret that my have color is blue.. but mostly teals, so when i saw that the Moxie Fab challenge was more of a navy… i had a bit of trouble. I love how my card turned out. A little bit of My Minds Eye papers and embellishments, Hero Arts stamp and Prussian blue Chalk ink… It was super quick to pull together, and thats ok with me since I’ve been super busy kitting for Crop on the Cape, designing my next round of card classes AND getting some card kits up in my etsy shop (those were *wicked* time consuming… but feels good to get it done)
Well… enough chatter here is what I came up with for the Cure for the Winter Blue challenge over at Moxie Fab (p.s. LOVE their new blog banner!! now there are my colors!!)

I’m back again with another tuesday trigger from moxie fab! This one is a two-weeker so there is plenty of time to play along, and I hope that you do!
Here is the inspiration this time
This time I was drawn to the colors and patterns.. and threw in a bird for good measure
Supplies Used:
October Afternoon pattern paper (for the woodgrain)
Memory box notecard and pattern paper
Hero Arts bird, sentiment and background stamp
I decided to try my first moxie fab challenge … and boy, is it a doozie! I’m all for a challenge, and this certainly didn’t hold anything back. The boldness, the color combos are all out of my comfort zone… but you know what? That is what is best about trying challenges, they open up your creative brain to new ideas!
I was immediately inspired by the bold wall paper, and happy to see a splash of teal (of course) and last but not least i loved the striking clean black and white pattern. Hope you enjoy the card I created!
so, this year was the first where I didn’t have much role in CHA… I wasn’t doing any ordering for the store, and I didn’t need to keep up on what everyone was releasing… it was definitely weird!
I do still follow some people and companies on fb and twitter, so I thought I would share with you some of the fun things I saw that are coming out, that get my creative juices flowing! (Hoping Ink About It has ordered some of these goodies!)
My Minds Eye: On the Bright Side - I love all the wood textures and the teal and orange combos!!
Basic Grey: PB&J – I am absolutely LOVING this color scheme… and the hint of nautical theme there is
Hero Arts & Studio Calico: Abroad stamps – looks like I better plan some more travels for 2012 because i NEED a reason to get these stamps!
Creative Imaginations – of course I got a good look at all the lines they were releasing before the show, lucky me… i do have a few faves!
Oceanside - Christine Adolph always creates the most beautiful lines!!
Nautical Collection – The name says it all… Samantha Walker created this wicked fun line!
Tea Party - Samantha Walker also designed this line. I just love the color scheme and the patterns
Tim Holtz: Ideology “chit chat stamps” – I love, love love these!! Those of you who take my class know I am always making up my own “word fetti” and I love that tim explains in the catalog that we can create our own “banter with them” when I teased him about it on fb he gave it right back to me haha (TIP: also i heard him explain in an interview that these are white and kraft AND matte finish so they will take to inks really well… any color you want!!)
Those are just a few of the new goodies I am loving. I also saw a lot of wash tape and trims that make me drool… now to just get my studio organized so i can get some new goods in my stash!
I did get to design some fun projects for Creative Imaginations… they have been doing a lot of fun sneak peeks over on their blog… but I thought now that CHA is over I would share my designs here.
IOD Preposterous
Songbird
I have a few more projects as well, but they haven’t been showcased on the Creative Imaginations blog.. so you will have to just wait to see!
Are you signed up for Crop on the Cape? I AM!!! For the first year I get to teach classes, and CROP!!! I’m so excited!! Who else is going? I’m also super excited to see some familiar faces as well.
I’m sure there are still some seats available, but BEWARE- it DID sell out last year!! So get your registrations in. Over 200 people cropping together, a variety of FUN classes, vendors to purchase unique products from (psst Ink About It will be the main store vendor on location!!)
I had some other things I wanted to post on the blog here, after the crash. but then Hero Arts posted how this adorable stamp was on SALE… so I figured i would give you some inspiration to treat yourself

You don’t want to miss this class! I will be sitting down with you and doing step by step coloring technique instructions… VERY FUN!

Hope everyone is enjoying their Halloween, even if it was postponed due to SNOW… a lil too early for me this year… but i’m trying to not complain about it.
I needed to create a ton of class samples this weekend… but after my super techy conference in TX last week… it took me a bit to get into the swing of it, I decided to create this fun Halloween card as a warm up
Have a *wicked* happy halloween!!!
