I am back with a Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge card! Thank you for joining us for the Happy Birthday challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too. This week the challenge is April Showers/Spring Flowers. Please make a springy, showery, flowery creation! I took a little creative liberty with my creation and you will see that as you scroll down 🙂
We are showcasing Memory Box products this week. You don’t have to use them to join in but if you have some we would love to see them used. As always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away $50 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store
As I mentioned I took some creative liberty with the challenge theme this week- hey as long as the challenge inspires you to create- that is what matters most right? I took the “April Showers” to mean “showering with love” on my card here.
I recently got the Memory Box Banner Parade die set. I loved all the elements included in this set AND I posted on instagram how excited I was that it included the magnetic backing sheet to help stay organized- that was a fun surprise!
I also recently got the new Bear Hugs set from Mama Elephant. I think this is just the sweetest set. I love the sentiments that are included as well- so I just had to play with that! I also used the My Favorite Things Love You More again for the sentiment. (you can see another card I created with this set here)
I started off by stamping the bears with Versafine Onyx Black ink on Distress Watercolor Cardstock and watercolored them with Distress Inks. I forgot to jot down the colors I used but I believe I used Vintage Photo, Walnut Stain, Frayed Burlap and Picked Raspberry (to rosy their cheeks).
I fussy cut them out, leaving no white edging. I then cut out an A-2 notecard size from Bazzill Cream Puff Criss Cross Cardstock. I just LOVE this texture. I also cut out a Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangle from the same cardstock.
I used the powder tool on the bottom of the rectangle and then heat embossed with white embossing powder the sentiment from MFT I Love You More. I then took some of the Picked Raspberry Distress Ink and did a watercolor wash over the letters to make them stand out. Using Kokuyo Dot Adhesive I adhered the bears flat on the card, as if they were standing on the sentiment.
I then cut out the banner and little hearts from the Memory Box Banner Parade Die set from some of the papers in the American Crafts Dear Lizzy Serendipity 6×6 paper pad. Using foam tape I adhered the banner to the top of the stitched rectangle. Using the teeny tiny heart in the Bear Hugs set I added a sprinkle of hearts above the 2 bears to finish off the card.
Ok- so now it’s time for YOU to enter the challenge. Remember, April Showers/Spring Flowers is the theme so create whatever that inspires you to do!
Just by playing along and linking up your project to the SSS Wednesday Challenge post you can qualify to enter a $50 shopping voucher to the Simon Says Stamp store.
And remember if you are on instagram tag your photo with #ssswchallenge 🙂
There will be ONE lucky winner that will be chosen at random, it could be you!
I really hope to see some of my blog readers join in on all the fun and play along with the challenge. I can’t wait to stop by some of your blogs and take a peek at what you have made. Have a wicked fun time creating!
What a beautiful card! That sentiment is perfect! I made a Bear Hugs card for my youngest daughter, and this is what I wrote inside. Wish I had the sentiment for the outside. 🙂 Another item for my wishlist. 😉
