Happy first day of summer!
If you follow my blog, you know I am a very happy girl! I hope to spend the whole weekend at the beach. This is the first weekend in a long time that Chris and I have 100% free with no other commitments. So if we want to stay at the beach until the sun sets, we can 🙂
I plan on starting a new book, looking for seashells, playing in the waves, and just feeling the sun on my face. I also plan on bringing a notebook so I can work out final details for an online class that I have been planning and designing for a bit now. It is taking longer then I imagined, but stay tuned… it is going to be worth it!
For the card above I played with the new Lawn Fawn Life is Good stamp set. I have a feeling this is going to be my #1 favorite stamps set from Lawn Fawn for a looong time. I played with watercolor pencils and dug out some different Distress Stickles. I like using them instead of regular stickles sometimes because I think it is more subtle, and a lot more like mica then glitter. So pretty. I have linked all the supplies below for you. They link you right to Simon Says Stamp where I am an affiliate so if you place an order from the link I will receive a small commission.
I put a little bit of Shabby Shutters Distress Stickles on the palm tree leaves. I used regular Cinnamon Stickles to make my own coconuts. I used an x-acto knife to cut a slit in the hammock to tuck the little crab in there. Isn’t he so cute!? I tied some twine around the palm trees to make it look like the hammock is hanging from them.
Using my Uni-ball Signo white gel pen- I added some details to the crab. For the sand I used a little bit of Antique Linen Distress Stickles. Distress Stickles is a bit chunkier then regular Stickles so the nozzle it comes out is larger. I end up squeezing some out and spreading it with my finger. I did the same with the little starfish with Scattered Straw Distress Stickles. I accented the waves with regular Stickles in Stardust.
Below I put together a fabulous image for you to Pin to Pinterest. It has the full image of the card as well as the detail shots all together! To Pin It to one of your boards, just click the “Pin It” button at the bottom of this post, then choose which image you would like to pin. Be sure to follow me on Pinterest too!
What is everyone up to for their first weekend of summer? Hope you get to enjoy it outside!
