SHURKUS2

We'll 2011 is here. This year is bringing on a lot of changes for me, changes i am ready for, changes i am embracing.

As most of you have heard a muse is no longer going to be selling wholesale, and the a muse instructor program is no longer…

When i first heard this news, i'm not going to lie.. i was a mess. I have been with a muse for the past 5 years…. it has become a part of me, but once i took a step back, took a deep breathe i realized change is good!

whenever an obstacle, or challenge has been put in front of me… it has only made me work harder (must be my stubborness ;) ) and better things come of it

everything happens for a reason

so i just needed to come up with a new game plan… i love teaching and i love traveling to other stores and teaching….  so that will not end.  I am going to continue to teach. I already have classes booked at ink about it, the paperie (in new foundland!!! more on that later) and of course colorful creations. Those of you who take classes with me.. i hope you will try my new classes out… i know i can still guarantee you a fun time, an organized and relaxed class, and you will continue to learn new techniques and tips!! I plan to take my ranger, and copic certification and run with it!! I am excited to revive my "artsy-fartsy" side… i haven;t had as much time for that the past few years.

So some new things are in the works… and some of them i can share with you!! :)

This month i am the guest designer over on the stampotique blog!!

I also am going to be doing some designing for creative imaginations!!

I'm really excited about these new creative adventures i will be traveling on!!

I am signed up to take ali edwards "one little word" class over on big picture… figuring out what my word would be has been a challenge this year. Last year my word was "appreciate". I worked hard in 2010 to appreciate what i have, the people who are in my life, and all my good fortunes. I feel 2010 was a success… i dont think it was a bad year at all….I met a lot of new friends in 2010, and had a ton of fun… thats all that matter right? ;)

It's always exciting to start a new year… this year my word is going to be

possibilities

excited to see where my word will take me

steph took these fabulous photos of me (on the coldest, windiest day this fall)… she's SOOO freakin talented… and while she is obsessed with my eyes, i am obsessed with her creativity, she amazes me, and i'm so lucky to have had her for a friend… forever :)
she has more pics.. she says tons of good ones… i can't wait to see more ;) I wanted some new photos for my new year.. and i hope 2011 will bring a new design to shurkus.com

jenn, this post was so inspiring and awesome – you know that i have been a big fan of you for a long time. it was such a rare and welcome change to stumble upon a craft blogger who wasn’t afraid to completely be herself and use the word “bitch” if she felt like it. someone who loves margaritas and her kitty as much as i did.
i know the future holds bright and beautiful things for you, and i can’t wait to see you again in april. it’s going to be so much fun, i wish i had a car so i could show you around properly.

And after all is said and done, If not for you I would not have ever known about a muse stamps or been on this wonderful journey of rediscovering my love of making cards again! Looking forward to a 2011 full of wicked good “creative chick” goodness!!!

  • Lori Barnett says:
