As you know I live on Cape Cod, and am a mermaid at heart so I couldn’t wait to play with the Mermaid Song set.
Using Distress Inks, I watercolored her with the no-line color method. Stamping in a lighter ink color, in this case Antique Linen, and then watercoloring the image with Distress Inks.
For the background I stamped the Ocean Borders Stamp in Peacock Distress ink and immediately went over areas with a wet paint brush. Picking up the color from the stamped image, and filling in some of waves. Using a quickly glue pen and prisma ultrafine glitter, any of the waves that weren’t colored in I filled them in with sparkle!
I stamped the sentiment “Seas the day” with Versafine Onyx Black ink to get a really nice solid, bold sentiment.
I hope this card has inspired you, or at least has you ocean dreamin’ !
Thank you so much Lisa and Melissa for inviting me to be part of this fun blog series!
