In this class, we will continue to explore the world of Distress Watercolor Pencils. We will build on what was learned in Distress Techniques: Watercolor Pencils. While not mandatory, it’s recommended to enroll in the first session of the Watercolor Pencils Distress Techniques online course. That class dives into foundational knowledge important for learning about this medium. Participating in that first class will give you a solid understanding of Distress Watercolor Pencils and how to use them. This part two session will primarily focus on more techniques.

Jenn is going to share a variety of different techniques that you will be able to use in your cardmaking, mixed media, and papercrafting adventures. This class is going to be dedicated to learning and creative play. We will not complete any final projects but will have fabulous backgrounds that you could create cards, use in your projects later, or use as references in your crafty space. This class is perfect for beginners or more advanced papercrafters- there is something to learn for everyone!

All of the class videos will be available to watch in private YouTube videos, there is no need to have Facebook to participate!

Join Jenn for the LIVE class, hosted on YouTube (private videos) on May 18th or you can take the class anytime after that when it is convenient for you!

  • session one, 11a-2p ET
  • session two, 3p-5p ET

Also included in the class:

  • downloadable supply list
  • card kit prep information
  • step-outs of the techniques you will be learning
  • instructions listed per technique
  • pics of projects, with links to more information about them

Supply List:

Required Supplies- Even though I list these as required, in reality, anything can be substituted in class, and you can make your cards with any supplies

  • At least 1 set of Distress Watercolor Pencils. Jenn will be using colors from all 6 sets, but you can take the class not owning them all.
  • Distress Watercolor Cardstock – you can use a different watercolor cardstock, but you might get different results. Jenn highly recommends that you use Distress Watercolor Cardstock in class to get a similar outcome. You can experiment with other cardstock after class. Jenn used 20- 4.25″ X 5.5″ sheets of Distress Watercolor Cardstock to create samples for the class. You can choose to have more or less on hand.
  • Water Mister Spray Bottle – Jenn recommends the Distress Sprayer
  • Heat Tool – Jenn recommends the Ranger Heat Tool
  • Flour Sack Cloth
  • A non-porous surface to work on – Jenn recommends a Ranger Craft sheet or Tim Holtz Glass Mat
  • Paintbrushes – Jenn will be using Round paintbrushes in sizes #2 and #4, Ranger has a fabulous variety pack
  • Cup or Bowl for water – Jenn loves this collapsible one
  • shaped dies (flowers, fruit, bugs, etc.). Specific ones Jenn will be demo’ing with are shown/linked below, but she encourages you to use what you have
  • variety of stencils with larger openings. Specific ones Jenn will be demo’ing with are shown/linked below, but she encourages you to use what you have

  • Distress Mixed Media Heavystock *
  • Distress Mediums * : Distress Texture Paste , Distress Grit Paste, Distress Crackle Paste

3 reviews for Distress Techniques: Watercolor Pencils Part 2 – Online Class

  1. Danielle Dunlop (verified owner)

I have done so many classes by Jenn and each and every time I learn something new (and she Jennables me 😆). The first Distress Watercolor Pencils class was already great, but this one definitely takes you to the next step! Her classes are great for everyone, no matter if you’re a beginner or a lifelong card maker.

  2. mattmars (verified owner)

Class one was awesome and will give you a great start to using your watercolor pencils but this Part 2 class will have you LOVING your watercolor pencils Jenn breaks it down so simply you won’t be intimidated you will be diving right in wondering where this medium has been all your life!! 😁😁😁

  3. ROBIN E BERNIER (verified owner)

Wow!! This class was loaded with awesome techniques that allow you to use your watercolor pencils to their fullest. When I took Jenn’s Part 1 watercolor pencil class last year, I was scared of the word “watercoloring” and really only took the class because she was teaching it. Since then, I have used the skills she taught and have became comfortable using them. Never in a million years did I expect to reach for watercolor pencils because I wanted to!! Jumping ahead to this Part 2 class, I was truly excited to see what new techniques Jenn could teach. After several “aha” and “this is so cool” moments, I can tell you she delivered! This is a great techniques class and I highly recommend it.
