Some feedback from previous class attendees:
I’ve taken a lot of classes with Jenn, online and in-person. I always learn so much. Even tho I’m not a card maker, this class taught techniques it was easy to translate to pages in my art journals. Over the years Jenn has suggested supplies in her classes. Every single product she has recommended has proved its value a hundred fold to me! – rosebrierstudio
I thoroughly enjoyed this class. The knowledge base I have after taking this class helped me create and “go outside the box” on my creations. The handouts and sample photos that Jenn includes is invaluable! Thanks so much Jenn! – Deb Glover
This class was waaaaay out of my comfort zone! I had never done these techniques before. Jenn made it fun and easy…..and educational. It was interesting learning about the best kind of paper to use for these techniques and the different inks and how they react. I learned so much! Great class! – Linda Callahan

Once you have purchased this online class, you are able to access the class resource page by logging into your account www.shurkus.com/my-account , choosing “classes & events” and then choosing this class. On the class resource page, you will find the downloadable class supply list and class prep handout. You will also find the details about the class LIVES which are hosted on private YouTube links. As the class gets closer the class handout will be posted there as well.
Starting with classes in 2023 I will no longer be starting a private Facebook group for each class that I offer. Now that class videos are hosted on YouTube and all private information can be found on the class resource page here on my website, I don’t feel there is much of a need. I also will contact class attendees with any important class updates or changes via email, so no one will miss anything. Now I encourage you to join my {creative chick} studio share Facebook group, which is a public group and open to any papercrafters. You can still share posts in the group as you are preparing for class, what your crafty space looks like all set up and your projects after class. If you have questions specifically about the class you can still ask them in this group, and tag me in the post by typing @jennshurkus to tag me. OR you can send me an email at creative-chick@shurkus.com
With the supplies you have gathered ahead of time, you will be able to watch the videos and create right along with me as I teach. In order to be able to comment, ask questions, and interact with other students you will need an account with Google. You can also share your projects in the Facebook group or on social media using the hashtag #CreativeChickClasses. If you happen to miss the live broadcast, or if you want to rewatch it, it will be permanently saved on YouTube. You can also leave a comment on the YouTube video after class with questions, post in the Facebook group, or you can also email me questions.

This was such a great class. Before the class, I was unsure if I would ever use the water color pencils. I have the inks, so I wasn’t sure what these could do that I couldn’t do with the ink (especially after taking Jenn’s Distress Ink class). Needless to say, I am obsessed with the pencils. Jenn walks you through how to use the pencils in so many different ways, to get different looks. I made so many beautiful cards from the dreamy backgrounds I made in class, and I was inspired to use the pencils to make a bunch of Christmas cards using the techniques I learned in class.

Jenn knocked this one out of the ballpark! I am so glad that I was able to take it live and now have the video to refer back to so I can finish up the second half as I primarily took all of the first half live and about 1/2 of the second half. Jenn is an amazing an inspirational teacher and does her best to answer all questions as they are asked throughout the class as well! I highly recommend this class as well as the other Distress Technique Classes from Jenn. I purchase the other two and now I need to make the time to finish up watching and implementing them. Jenn’s classes are always top notch and she creates wonderful handouts too and PDF’s!

Before today, if you said “watercoloring” to me, I would give you a deer in the headlight look. However, I knew if anyone could convince me otherwise, it was Jenn. This class was awesome. Jenn has a beautiful knack of teaching techniques so easy to understand. In this class, she teaches you several different ways you can use these Distress watercolor pencils. By the end of class, all of my pencils had been given some love and I can honestly say I really liked using them. They have earned a spot in my crafting space (as opposed to being stored away). Thank you for another great class Jenn. Who knows, I may someday use these pencils as much as I use my Copics.
