Supplies Needed
You will need a few supplies which are listed below. Supplies are linked below where possible. Once you have registered you will gain access to the event resource page where this list is downloadable and there will be more specific information. Substitutions can be made. If you have any questions you can email me jenn@shurkus.com
- Inks to use for ink blending (I will be using Distress Inks: Salvaged Patina, Kitsch Flamingo, Mustard Seed, Vintage Photo, and Festive Berries)
- Ink Blending Tool or Brushes
- Colored inks to stamp with
(I will be using Lawn Fawn Inks: Peacock [SSS, LF], Bubblegum [SSS, LF], Freshly Cut Grass [SSS, LF]) - Number Stamps approximately 0.1875 W x 0.375 H ( I will be using Lawn Fawn Claire’s ABC’s, [SSS , LF])
- Acrylic Block to use with number stamps ( I find this 1.75″ block easiest to work with [SSS, LF])
- Coloring Medium (I will be using Copic markers, and a list of specific colors will be on the downloadable supply list on the event resource page)
- Ruler (I recommend the Amazing Measuring Ruler I carry in my {creative chick} shop, so measuring will be easy)
- Pencil
- X-acto ( My favorite is this finger X-acto)
- A good eraser (I recommend this one)
- Adhesive Eraser (I recommend this one)
- White Gesso
- Craft Paint ( I will be using Distress Paint: Kitsch Flamingo and Twisted Citron)
- Paintbrush
- A strong wet adhesive that works on wood and metal (I will be using Distress Collage Medium, and found it easiest to have it in a 2.0z bottle with a fine tip, and 3.8oz jar)
- (optional) Distress Collage Brush (this makes spreading Distress Collage Medium easier, and doesn’t get gunked up by the adhesive)
- Medium point marker (I will be using a gray papermate flair marker)
- Quickie Glue Pen
- Foam squares
- Prisma Glitter
- (optional) 1/2″ corner rounder (I will be using the We R Memory Keepers Cropadile Corner Chomper)
- 25 round 0.709-inch magnets (I recommend this magnet set, the adhesive circles they come with are very strong and make them very quick and easy to use. If these are out of stock, here is an alternative magnet set that is just as good.)
- Cookie Baking Sheet, 17.25 x 11.5 inch ( I am using the larger sheet from this 2 pack, and the 2nd sheet I kept in the kitchen. You could also get this single sheet for the same price as the 2-pack)
- 1 piece of 12×12 teal patterned paper (I will be using Lawn Fawn Watercolor Wishes Birthday Candles you can buy a pack of the paper or get the collection pack)
- 1 piece of 12×12 pink patterned paper (I will be using Lawn Fawn Spiffy Speckles Strawberry Frosting you can buy a pack of the paper or get the collection pack)
Substitutions can be made. If you have any questions you can email me jenn@shurkus.com
I also used a 1/4″ drill bit to drill holes in the handle of the cookie sheet to thread ribbon through to hang the advent calendar on the wall. Ribbon will be provided in your kit.

Once you have purchased this online class, and your order has been processed you will want to join the private Facebook group and access the class resource page. Please note it may take time to be approved into the Facebook group as this is a manual process that is done by Jenn.
To find the class Facebook page and class resource page:

This is just the cutest advent calendar! And timeless! My friend and I took the class together and couldn’t stop cooing over the adorable images. It’s designed to be a one day class, but the online format allows you to make it fit any schedule. We actually broke it up over several weeks because we would pause and chat in between. I’m not a mixed media/3D kind of crafter, but Jenn made the non-card elements of the project really easy. My kids adored this advent calendar and fought over who got to put up each magnet. This would also make a wonderful gift.

If you are coo coo for Advent calendars this is the class for you. It was definitely
the class for me. But first, I have to sing Jenn Shurkus’ praises. I love her and her teaching style this will be I think my forth class with her and she is one of my favorite teachers. She is super patient with the myriad of questions asked, Her pace is good, not too slow and not too fast. She is clear in her instructions and measuring. Her supply lists are complete and helpful but you can substitute if needed. She is detailed in her coloring but not overly focused on it, it is a good middle balance. She keeps it fun and supportive and not stressful. This class is totally worth it. All the goodies, OMG squeeeeeeal! If you’re hesitant, just do it. Seriously, just do it. Don’t let the length of the class intimidate you you do it over time if you like. Make a great gift for a special person, or yourself (I kept mine).

This was my first class with Jenn and I cannot sing her praises loud enough!! Great class! Great instructor! We battled weather issues during the class but everything continued smoothly. Love, love, love the finished product. What a creative mind!
