Online Resources: *Virtual* Creative Journey Art Retreat- Fall 2021

The Creative Journey Art Retreat is an event I have been hosting in-person for a number of years and is now online as well. This event is very popular, sells out quickly, and I got many requests to have access to the video tutorials, and class handouts after the LIVE virtual event.

Included in your retreat fee:

  • 10+ hours of instruction, and craft time
  • 12 handmade cards were created.  The cards include some of the latest products from many companies including Lawn Fawn, Newton’s Nook, Hero Arts, Honey Bee Stamps, Tim Holtz, Purple Onion Designs, Colorado Craft Company, Trinity Stamps, Reverse Confetti, Simon Says Stamps, and more.
  • Access to the exclusive retreat resource page. Here you will be able to access all the supply lists, download the handout, and follow links to the video tutorials.
  • A 20+ page instruction handout. This handout includes images of all the cards, including a detail shot, and supplies listed per card as well as some assembly information. This handout also includes Copic coloring guides. (If you do not have Copic markers you can choose to color with a different medium and you will still find the coloring guides helpful).
  • Access to the exclusive Facebook group, and the ability to ask Jenn questions within the group and chat with other attendees.

Supplies Needed

Kits are not shipped for this. Within the class resource page, all supplies that are used will be listed and linked. There are a few basic supplies you will need. A supply list will be provided soon.

Policies

  • Due to the nature of this event, there are no refunds. Once you register and pay you are given access to the private Facebook group and the retreat resource page. You are provided the website and password so there are no refunds. If you are unable to attend the event LIVE you will be able to watch the replays.
  • The event resource page and event videos are exclusive to event attendees it goes without saying this should not be shared with others. When the event sells out, crafty friends can still sign up for the event resources at a discounted rate and will then have access to these resources as well. I keep events and class fees affordable, I would hope you support me in not sharing this information. Thank you!

I was so EXCITED that Jenn had this online! I made so many amazing cards. It was really hard not to open the box when it arrived. Jenn included some super cute goodies in the box, too. It was super exciting to have individual guest class instructors. Jenn had card making challenges we could participant in for prizes that were optional. If you want a class where you’ll make a lot of cards from a variety of stamp companies this is the class for you. I highly recommend it. I look forward to some day attending her in person event.

Another great round of classes. I was easily able to substitute products I had already because I missed this event, i did not get the whole kit. The resources are so wonderful. Thank you again Jenn for all the hard work.

Jenn’s classes are AH-MA-ZING!!! This was my second virtual Creative Journey Art Retreat, and this event did NOT disappoint! Jenn’s creativity and talent are so impressive and inspiring. She is a wonderful instructor who really demystifies the art of cardmaking. Her class handouts are FABULOUS, and I LOVE her style so much. If you have been considering taking one of Jenn’s classes, think no more–just do it! You won’t regret it. Thank you, Jenn!

Jenn’s classes and events are a can’t miss for me. I love her attention to detail that make every card their own little work of art. They are all different, and every time I think we’ve made my favorite, we do something on the next one to change my mind,, “No THIS one is my favorite!” I live in a place that there are zero papercrafters, and no hope of a store that would host such an event in person, so I am so thankful these have moved online and are available for me to attend. I know putting something like this together is lots of hard work, and it shows how much Jenn cares that all of her attendees have a great crafty weekend when you work through the projects. You won’t regret taking this, or any other, classes Jenn teaches.

This was my first virtual art retreat with Jenn and my second online class this year. I have also taken one in-person class with her, and just from that experience, I knew this would be a great class. At first, I was hesitant because of the price, but let me tell you, all the goodies you get in your box, and Jenn teaching – the price is nothing! I will definitely sign up for this again! Her card designs are amazing. They are well-thought out and incorporate so many fun techniques to try. Like she says in class, “you may not like every card, but at least I’m getting you to try different styles and techniques.” I’ve learned and tried so many things that I was afraid to try on my own.

This is my second Virtual Creative Art Journey Retreat and it was amazing! Jenn is a great teacher and her handouts are so helpful! She’s engaging and creative and teaches you many techniques that you can use in a variety of ways. This holiday one was great because at the end of the weekend I had 12 new holiday cards!

I cannot recommend Jenn’s classes enough. Each card was packed with techniques and ideas, and she pays attention to every detail in her instruction. I learned so much including how to use loose glitter with minimal mess, inky backgrounds with clean stamped images, and vastly improved my alcohol marker coloring skills. The kits and the card designs were thoughtfully curated and I will be able to use the resources from this retreat for years to come. I don’t know how Jenn mastered the pace of teaching with lots of fun interaction with all of the comments but she pulled it off and the whole weekend was an absolute blast. Can’t wait for her next event!!

I am a newbie at online classes and I will be back! Loved (LOVED) learning from Jenn. She has inspired me to pick up the “dreaded” copic marker again. In total awe and appreciation Miss Jenn, A million thanks, Jane Laczak

Just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, it DOES! I thoroughly enjoyed this, my second weekend-long virtual outing this year with Jenn. The coloring guides are clearly well-thought out and a boon to those of us who aren’t skilled “colorers.” The pace is just right and the flexibility of going back to the videos later is an added bonus. It allows us to refresh some of the minute details she shares that we may have forgotten along the way — an excellent resource. And now my whole house is glittery, too!!! Kudos to Jenn!

This was my 2nd weekend long event with Jenn this year and again she blew me away with how well organized everything is. The handouts are very well done and helpful in case you get a little behind or if you want to look back for some information. But also the videos will still be available. She has some amazing sponsors so that we got a wonderful box with goodies to work with! What I love about this is that I get to work with products that I wouldn’t buy myself, but end up loving cause you get great ideas how to use them.
I don’t have any crafty friends nearby and these classes make me like being at an in person event and hanging out with like minded people.
Jenn is very talented and creative and every time she pulls me out of my comfort zone. She even makes me like glitter 🙂 Maybe one day she will also make me like fussy cutting…
Thank you so much for an amazing weekend!!

    Excellent experience!

Jenn clearly cares about and works hard to provide an excellent experience for her attendees. I had a great time and learned a lot throughout the making of 12 unique cards. I was so pleased with my first event experience, I promptly signed up for another. Worth every penny, thanks Jenn!

So thrilled to have been a part of my second *Virtual* Creative Art Journey. What an amazing weekend with amazing cards. Jenn shows so many different techniques and includes so many great tips and tricks along the way. I’m always amazed at how I look at the resources she provides prior to class and love the cards, but the way paper, ink, water, adhesive, glitter, etc. all comes to life in the creations is like magic. Jenn uses many of the same supplies throughout, and is just so organized in providing supply lists and instructions in advance. I always learn some new things along the way. It’s also a bonus that I can revisit the resources to create cards using the same techniques using different stamps/themes in the future. I can’t wait for the next one!

This is my second virtual creative journey class I did this year. I like that we get some product and kits for our cards. Some stamped. And Jenn has the best handouts to make the coloring easy. Then she always glitters and then come out great. I would recommend the classes to anyone who likes to make cards. I made 12 Christmas cards and can make some more. Other card makers share and they create their own cards with the stamps!!

Participated in my third Virtual CREATIVE JOURNEY ART RETREAT this weekend and I love the instruction and guidance provided by Jenn. I continue to learn new techniques and I love being introduced to new stamp companies. The sponsorship is outstanding and I can’t wait for the next one!

  15. Lori McCarthy

This past weekend’s Creative Journey Art Retreat was just so much fun. The box was packed with generous items from the sponsors, and a lot of the work is done for you with the die cutting and some stamping, which is kind of a blessing not to have to get all of your paper together during a live event! This is my second art retreat with Jenn. She mentioned something this time that I will remember. She said the reason she does these events is to have people try different things with a little bit of ink, a little bit of paste and a WHOLE LOTTA GLITTA! Jenn actually had Mother Nature to contend with days before this event and handled it like a pro. We were all saying, “Whatever you need to do, Jenn.” Mother Nature striking your internet days before a virtual event has got to be a little scary … not to mention it was Halloween weekend! Did Jenn get spooked? Not at all. It was going to happen despite no internet. Now that’s grace under pressure … and always with a smile. Jenn is a lot of fun, very sweet, quite knowledgeable about ALL THE THINGS, and will always answer any question you have. I would highly recommend these events. Oh, yes, and she is the Jennabler, but she Jennables you in the right direction. She’s been doing this a long time and recommends things she uses in her studio! Hoping to be able to continue doing these events with her.

  16. Cheryll Aldridge

I attended the event and got the box and it was AMAZING. If you’re looking here, wondering if the art retreat is worth the money, the answer is yes! Treat yourself to some great cards and supplies to make more! Jenn’s handout takes the guesswork out of how to color, where to put the shadows and whatnot, which lets you dive right into creating. She also provides great assembly tips. She is very organized and gives your great ideas on how to do multiple cards very efficiently.

  17. Joanie

Oh, my gosh! I loved this class! The cards are awesome, and the sponsors’ gifts are just wonderful!
I’ve been taking classes with Jenn almost since the beginning of her crafty teaching career! She never ceases to amaze me with her creativity and teaching methods.
If you haven’t already taken a Jenn Class, you should!

  18. Maureen Morton

They just keep getting BETTER! This event was so terrific, I can hardly explain it. I feel like I am right in the studio with Jenn and all the students. Such great handouts to which I refer so very often, lots of laughs, wonderful designs….the list goes on. My Copic skills are vastly improved, I’ve been introduced to new products and I have learned some timely tips. And, yes – the cards!!!! Love what you are doing – come and join us.

  19. Megan N

Such a fun event! There was a great variety of techniques and companies in the cards. Classes were a great pace with great instruction!

  20. Fran Stein

I attended this retreat this weekend and had a fabulous time. Jenn is a amazing teacher. Her classes are very well thought out and extremely organized. She has a great flare for putting together cards that make you think about how to use what you may have in your stash. I have learned a lot from her and look forward to taking more of her classes.
When you sign up for one of Jenn’s classes you won’t be disappointed… you will be addicted!! ❤️❤️❤️
Looking forward to the next class!

  21. Eric Bowman

I really enjoyed Jenn’s class this past weekend. I have taken almost all of her online classes and every time I learn something new and useful. I am even going to be using a technique I learnt this weekend on my holiday cards this year! Jenn is so helpful and friendly. She really cares about her students and helps us when we need it. I can’t recommend her classes more highly!

  22. Denise Terry

There are no words for how amazing this class was! Jenn is one of the best when it comes to introducing lots of different techniques in a way that anyone, beginner to expert, can learn something new. She made the entire weekend fun and time flew by. Oh, and I ended up with 12 amazing cards that I can’t wait to send to family and friends!
