Class description: This class will offer an in-depth exploration of techniques and new ways to see, use and interpret found objects. Students will create using a variety of materials, paints, images, stencils, and found objects! Techniques will include collage, painting, texture, assemblage, cutting, pasting, etc. The class is designed to give students a wide variety of art-making experiences and techniques designed as a tool for future exploration.
Student supplies:
Teflon mat
Baby wipes, paper towels
Palette knifes
¾” flat paint brush
12” paper cutter
Matte medium
White gesso
Low temp heat gun
Spray bottle filled with water
Cup or container with water to clean brushes
scissors
Apron
OPTIONAL: If you have some favorite found objects you may want to include them on your canvas, such as paper objects, small metal pieces, ephemera, clips, gears, tags, chipboard, etc. [I will be bringing some with me to share]
OPTIONAL: favorite stencils you wish to use in class [I will have some with me]
