Hey everyone! Welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge! Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Masking challenge last week and we hope you will all join us again this week too. This week the challenge is Father’s Day/For a Guy!
We are featuring Tim Holtz Products this week. You don’t have to use them to join in with the challenge, but if you have them we would love to see them used! As always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away $50 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store! YAY!
For a Guy with Tim Holtz
Since I had just created a Father’s Day card, I decided to keep this one generic for any guy for any occasion. I was working with VERY limited supplies as I had just moved and my studio is not unpacked yet. Luckily I had a few Tim Holtz items that I had discovered in one of the first boxes I opened 😉
I started with a sheet of Tim Holtz Motif Cardstock. This cardstock has a design already embossed on it. I used a mini ink blending tool to ink the background with Chipped Sapphire and a little bit of Black Soot on the edges.
Then on Distress Watercolor Cardstock I stamped the vintage fan from the Vintage Things Blueprint Stamp Set. I watercolored it with the Tim Holtz Detailer Waterbrush and Distress Inks (Hickory Smoke, Black Soot, Faded Jeans and Chipped Sapphire)
I then very carefully cut out the front of the fan, and the background the fan was on. I am not sure where my exacto or cutting mat are so I did this with my Fiskars Spring Action Scissors (my faves!). I used super thin pieces of 3M foam tape to mount the front of the fan onto the main fan.
I chose a fun sentiment from the Occasions Small Talk Stickers and finished it off with Clear Rock Candy Distress Stickles on the blue parts of the fan.
Ok- so now it’s time for YOU to enter the challenge. Remember, Fathers Day or For a Guy is the theme so have fun! Just by playing along and linking up your project to the SSS Wednesday Challenge post you can qualify to enter a $50 shopping voucher to the Simon Says Stamp store.
I really hope to see some of my blog readers join in on all the fun and play along with the challenge. I can’t wait to stop by some of your blogs and take a peek at what you have made. Have a wicked fun time creating!
