Hey everyone! Welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge! Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Father’s Day/For a Guy challenge last week and we hope you will all join us again this week too. This week the challenge is Animal Magic!
We are featuring Paper Smooches Products this week. You don’t have to use them to join in with the challenge, but if you have them we would love to see them used! As always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away $50 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store! YAY!
Looking to create a rich colored background in less then 5 minutes (including dry time)? Here you go in 5 easy steps!
- Spritz a sheet of Distress Watercolor Cardstock with water
- Spritz 1 of your 2 Distress Spray Stains (I used Fossilized Amber)
- Spritz the 2nd color of Distress Spray Stains (I used Mermaid Lagoon)
- Optional: If you want the colors to move more and blend together more spritz more water
- Dry it with your heat tool
Once I created this bold and colorful background I stamped one of the kitties from Paper Smooches Nine Lives Stamp Set with Black Archival Ink on Distress Watercolor Cardstock and then watercolored in the kitty to look like Mister Harley of course. I did the same with the wicked cute fish bowl.
I fussy cut them out and set aside. I wanted to be sure that the sentiment was bold and stood out against the background so I heat embossed it. I was sure to use the Powder Tool, so there was no static cling and then stamped the sentiment with Versafine Onyx Black ink. If you work quickly you can heat emboss with this ink. I used Ranger Fine Detail Clear Embossing Powder.
I then decided that the card needed some ribbon. I inked some Tim Holtz Crinkle Ribbon with various yellow Distress Ink Pads, spritzed with water and then heat set. I used foam tape to pop the images up off the card.
This is just a fun card I can send to a friend for any occasion!
Ok- so now it’s time for YOU to enter the challenge. Remember, Animal Magic is the theme so have fun! Just by playing along and linking up your project to the SSS Wednesday Challenge post you can qualify to enter a $50 shopping voucher to the Simon Says Stamp store.
